Sometimes Magic just happens in a RA group. Ive made 15 in a row with an all mesmer group. It was epic. Teams we face were not ready for the shut down. 2 doms 1 illusion and me running a IW Me/Sin hybrid build

Answer your question it is random totally random. random group and random classes thrown together at a random time

@OP
post your build and how you play in RA
there will be probably more to do than just syncing to be competitive against noob syncers.

@OP
disregard last post
you will get trolled and flamed for four pages regardless of what bar you post
either you're a wiki noob or you're a stupid noob running a bad bar (at least, this is what you will be told)
which label you receive from the community will depend on the bar you post

Meh...anybody who calls somebody else a "wiki noob" is a noob. There is a difference between a bad build and a good build.

Wiki builds are often suboptimal. There are two problems. One is a problem with the vetting process; people torpedo things they don't like and try to suppress advantageous build changes. For instance, most good HA teams have changed the standard Mind Blast bar since the Immolate nerf, but you won't find that change on PvX.

The second is with teambuilding; the bar on wiki may be a local optimum for that character, but the character might fit better into your team build with some changes to help it address the specific needs of your team.

It's a good starting point, especially if you don't know how to build. But it isn't the end-all be-all. You have to know its limitations.

But that's beside the point I was making, which was that the OP posting a bar will just set off a flame war. He'll either be told he's bad for losing with a good bar, or he's bad for running a bad bar.

Not necessarily. In 90% of cases, the person complaining posts a bad build and then proceeds to defend their use of the bad build. That is where the flaming starts because these people don't really want to get better. If the person posts a decent build, then we know that the problem is in their gameplay and can give the person suggestions on improving.

My question is who decides what is a bad build and based on what statistical facts vs another socalled good build? I want to see documents and printed facts not some "because I said so" bs. There's a lot of good to great builds that aren't even listed on wiki. I know because I have some of them. ) I never understood the stupid philosophy if it isn't on wiki or pvx then it's a pos crappy no good for nothing stupid build. I remember proving one other player wrong with that type of thinking before with a warrior fire build of mine. He tested it on some boss and was amazed at the speed of which it took him down. So I'm rather tired of these "i'm a game guru" types that think only wiki builds are good.

Builds are selected to be on wiki because they're good, not the other way around.

I'm not saying all wiki builds are necessarily good. If a build is proven to be good in high level PvP, then it is a good build. Chances are anything else is inferior to an already established build. The best players have already determined the best builds in any game. Its pretty simple really.

May be sync or not, but unless I see four guys in the same guild running a balanced team then I'm willing to consider it random. And I don't see that too often.

As for whether you need a monk or not, it's not always necessary. Plenty of times, I go in and see the whole team has no healers. But you'd be surprised how often you can still win. Been quite a few times we get to TA and laugh amongst ourselves how we were expecting to wipe first round and then kept winning. Only real reason you should give up is if half the team leaves, hard to win from there unless you're running some gimmick build they don't have any counters for.
